Privacy policy
We are a family cafe, not a data business. We keep what you send us for as long as we need it to help you, and nothing more. Last updated 13 June 2026.
Who we are
Oak Hill Park Cafe, Parkside Gardens, Barnet EN4 8JP is the data controller for the personal information described on this page. You can reach us on 0208 361 1013 or through the contact page.
What we collect and why
General enquiries. The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. We use these only to reply to you.
Party enquiries. The party enquiry form asks for your name, telephone number, email address, preferred date, number of children, the party child's age and any notes. We use these only to check availability, plan the party and confirm the booking with you. The child's age is provided by you as the parent or guardian and is used solely to make the party suitable for the age group; we do not collect information from children themselves.
Phone calls. If you call us we may note booking details (name, phone number, date, numbers) in the cafe diary to hold and manage your booking.
Technical data. Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this to identify visitors.
Our lawful basis
Replying to enquiries and managing bookings: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the cafe. Optional analytics cookies (when present): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via Cookie settings.
When you book or enquire, we keep a contact record (your name and the contact details you give us, and a history of your bookings and enquiries) so we can manage your booking and our relationship with you — our lawful basis is performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in running the cafe. We do not use these details for marketing unless you opt in. We keep them only as long as needed for that relationship, and you can ask us to erase your details at any time by calling 0208 361 1013 — we will remove your personal data from our records.
If you sign up to our newsletter, we use your email to send occasional cafe news and party offers — our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time (tell us and we'll stop, or ask us to erase you). We store your name and email in our contacts records and note when you opted in. We do not share your details, and we will add a one-click unsubscribe link to our emails.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages and party booking details no longer than we need them — normally removed within about 12 months of the enquiry or party date when we review our records, and you can ask us to erase yours sooner at any time. We keep records longer only where the law requires it (for example basic payment records for tax purposes).
Who we share it with
Nobody, except the service providers needed to run the website and respond to you: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our email provider when an enquiry is delivered to us. We never sell or rent your details.
Cookies and embedded services
The site sets no tracking cookies by default. The calendar page is served by us and loads nothing from Google; the contact page can show a Google Map, but only after you choose to load it, and only then may Google set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Details, including any analytics we use and how to change your choices, are in the cookie policy. With your consent we may also run optional analytics/advertising tags (for example Google or Meta/Facebook Pixel) that process limited data under their own privacy policies; these load only after you allow the matching category and can be withdrawn via Cookie settings. We also count anonymous page visits with no cookies and no IP address or identifying data, which is not personal data.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or stop using your personal information, ask for a copy of it, or object to our use of it. Call 0208 361 1013 or use the contact form and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
